Monona, Ia. - Funeral services for Frank Possehl, 82, who died at the Postville hospital Thursday morning, after an illness induced when he fell from a tree on Aug. 7, will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, at St. Paul Evangelical church.
A resident of Monona for over 40 years, Mr. Possehl was born in Mecklenberg, Scharwin, Germany, Nov. 15, 1862, and came to the United States with his parents when he was 11 years old. They settled at Motor, near Elkader, Ia.
He was married March 8, 1890, to Sophia Hagensick, in Read township, and they lived on a farm near National, Ia., until 1903, when they came to Monona. Mr. and Mrs. Possehl celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in March.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Elsie, of Monona; and one sister, Mrs. Mary Buckman, Froelich.
