Dwain Henkes, Jody Henkes, Austin Henkes, Aren Henkes
Funeral services were held Monday, July 31, 1995 for Dwain and Jody Henkes and their two sons, Austin and Aren, who died Friday, July 29, 1995 as a result of a pickup-train accident north of Prairie du Chien, Wisc.
Services were held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona, Iowa, with Rev. Terry Hudson officiating. Acolytes were Nathan Jones and Anne Keehner. Music was provided by organist Mrs. Connie Halvorson and soloist Mrs. Mary Keehner. Pallbearers were Harold Henning, Brian Henning, Andrew Henkes, Jon Henkes, Mike Henkes, Jason Tayek, Kurt Bonnett, Lorin Walz, Lance Mielke, Craig Martins, Rod Redman, Craig Redman, Mick Redman, John Karnopp, Jimmy Meng, Brian Krause, Scott Hemrichs, John Bouzek and Jim Kenny. Schultz's Funeral Home of Monona was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Monona.
Dwain Donald Henkes, was born Oct. 24, 1969 in Prairie du Chien, Wisc. to parents L'Dean and Arleta Henning Henkes. He was baptized Nov. 16, 1969 and confirmed April 28, 1985 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. He received his education at MFL MarMac, graduating in 1988. He attended Kirkwood Community College from 1988-1990 and received an Associate degree in agriculture business. He was 25 years old.
Jody Lynn Henkes was born December 17, 1968 at Prairie du Chien, Wisc. to parents David and Mary Morgan Redman. She was baptized at St. Gabriels Catholic Church, Prairie du Chien and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona. She graduated from Radcliffe High School in Radcliffe, Iowa and attended LaCrosse Western Wisconsin Technical College, and studied fashion merchandising. She was 26 years old.
Dwain Henkes and Jody Redman were united in marriage at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona December 1, 1990 by Pastor Farwell. To this union, two sons were born. The couple lived near Monona. Jody worked for Prairie Industries, Inc. Dwain farmed and enjoyed outdoor life and sports. They were members of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona.
Austin David Henkes was born March 24, 1991 at Prairie du Chien, Wis. to parents Dwain and Jody Redman Henkes. He was baptized April 21, 1991 at St. Paul Lutheran Church by Pastor Farwell. Austin was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church Sunday School. He was four years old.
Aren Donald Henkes was born December 28, 1992 at Prairie du Chien, Wis., to parents Dwain and Jody Redman Henkes. He was baptized Feb. 14, 1993 at St. Paul Lutheran Church by Pastor Hudson. He was two years old.
Surviving Austin and Aren are their grandparents, L'Dean and Arleta Henkes of Monona, and David and Mary Redman of Prairie du Chien; aunts and uncles, Julie Redman, Jayne Redman, Daryl and Beth Henkes, and Dustin Henkes; cousin, Zachary Henkes; great grandparents, Donald and Iva Henkes of Monona, Erma Henning of Farmersburg, and Art and Mary Lou Sprosty of Patch Grove, Wis.
Preceding Austin and Aren in death were great grandparents, Arno Henning, Ralph Morgan, and Esther and Mearl Redman.
Jody is survived by her parents, David and Mary Redman of Prairie du Chien; two sisters, Julie Redman of Prairie du Chien and Jayne Redman and her fiancee, Mike Sherer of Platteville, Wis., grandparents, Art and Mary Lou Sprosty of Patch Grove, Wis., aunts and uncles, Janice and Dick Eilders of Kankakee, Ill., Mary and Harry Huff of Cave Creek, Ariz., Carol Glawe of Prairie du Chien, Sharon Reiger of Darlington, Wis., Barbara Meng of St. Paul, Minn., Jim and Jean Morgan of Mt. Hope, Wis., Linda and Butch Quick of Janesville, Wis., Dennis and Diane Morgan of Lancaster, Wis., Dorothy and Dave Holtz of LaCrosse, Wis., Bob Morgan, Donna and Mike McKinney, Betty and Jon Cooley, Pat and Sharon Morgan, all of Bagley, Wis., Kathy and Ronnie Knapp of Mt. Hope, Wis., Chris and Cindy Morgan of Franklin, Wis., Rita Morgan of Warren, Ill., Bill and Nancy Morgan of Patch Grove, Wis., Laurie and Terry Laufenberg of Mt. Preceding Jody in death were grandparents, Ralph Morgan, and Esther and Mearl Redman.
Dwain is survived by his parents, L'Dean and Arleta Henkes of Monona; two brothers, Daryl and his wife, Beth, and son, Zachary of Monona, and Dustin of Monona; grandparents, Donald and Iva Henkes of Monona, and Erma Henning of Farmersburg; aunts and uncles, Jim and Mary Lou Henkes of Monona, Dennis and Diana Henning of Farmersburg, Vernon and Sharon Henning of Farmersburg, Phyllis and Don Toberman of Janesville, Wis., Evelyn and Bob Wacker of Prairie du Chien, Wis., and a host of other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death was his grandfather, Arno Henning.
