Memorial Services were held at 11 a.m. April 19, 2013 at Norway Lutheran Church, rural St. Olaf, Iowa for Diane Kay Heiden, 61, of Elkader, who died of a sudden illness, Friday, April 12, 2013, at Mercy Hospital, Dubuque, Iowa.
Visitation was held one hour before services at the church on Friday April 19, 2013 at Norway Lutheran Church, rural St. Olaf, with interment at the Norway Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural St. Olaf, Iowa.
Diane Kay Heiden was born June 22, 1951, in Prairie du Chien, WI, to Elmer and Ilene (Larson) Heiden. She was baptized at Norway Lutheran Church July 29, 1951, and confirmed there on May 7, 1967. Diane graduated from Central High School, Elkader, in 1970. She began working at R.I.S.E. when it opened and continued working there for nearly 30 years.
She is survived by her sister, Karen Johnson of Elkader; 5 nieces and nephews, Kimberly (Randy) Cronin of Luana, Daniel (Kara) Berger of Elgin, Douglas (Brenda) Berger of Wauzeka, WI, Ann Erickson of Luana, and Erin (Bill) Scherf of Elkader; 16 great nieces and nephews, Cody, Stephanie and David Cronin, Courtney, Drew, Dylan, Derek and Emily Berger, Jaden, Morgan, Raeanna Berger, Nolan Walby, Makenna and Logan Erickson, Kahlei and Alyssa Schmitt, and her two very special cats, Bootsy and Tiger.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents; sister Sharon in infancy; grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles.
