Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. October 2, 2012 at United Methodist Church in Edgewood, Iowa, for Marjorie Jones, 86, of Edgewood, Iowa, who died at the Edgewood Convalescent Home on Friday, September 28, 2012.

Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. October 1, 2012 at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home, Edgewood. Friends were able to call after 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. Interment was held at the Edgewood Cemetery October 2, 2012.

Marjorie Jones was born on December 22, 1925, in Dubuque, the daughter of Phillip and Gertrude (Smock) Ingles. Marjorie was raised and educated in the area, attending rural schools there.

On December 1, 1942, Marjorie was united in marriage to Don Jones in Manchester. Together they farmed most of their life near Wood Center. They retired to Edgewood in 1992. Marjorie has made her home in the Edgewood Convalescent Home the past two years.

Marjorie enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cooking for everyone, especially family Sunday dinners, and holiday dinners, and taking care of others.

Survivors include her 5 children, Gerald “Sam” (Jeanette) Jones of Edgewood, Gary (Donna) Jones of Edgewood, Judy (Mike) Bailey of Marion, Kathy (Gary) Clapham of Dyersville, and Janet (Jay) Degenford of Edgewood; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren plus one on the way; two sisters, Norma Harry of McGregor and Betty Kramer of Strawberry Point; and special friends, Norma Sauerbry and Lawrence Moser, both of Edgewood; and Arnetha Marting of Clayton Center.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don on June 3, 2007; two sisters; and three brothers.
