Postville Herald, Wed., 10 April 1940.

Mrs. W. J. Splies received word on Friday afternoon that her uncle, Thos. W. Burgess of Ingalls, Kansas, had passed away early Wednesday morning, April 3.

Mr. Burgess was born and brought up at Luana, the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Burgess. He with his father were Luana's stock buyers for many years and he was past owner of the small herd of buffalo that ranged for a few years on the Burgess farm to the south of the railroad tracks here.
