Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. September 12, 2012 at Peace United Church of Christ in Elkader, Iowa for Keith Carroll Meyer, 74, of Elkader, who died Sunday, September 9, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, Iowa. Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. September 11, 2012 at Leonard Funeral Home, Elkader, and one hour before services at the church on Wednesday. Interment was held September 12, 2012 at East Side Cemetery in Elkader.

Keith Carroll Meyer was born September 19, 1937, at home, rural St. Olaf, to Carl and Helen (Glawe) Meyer.

Keith attended Hope Country School, rural St. Olaf, transferring to Elkader Schools and graduating with the Class of 1955.

He was united in marriage to Linda Crawford on February 5, 1957. Two sons were born to this union. Keith farmed rural Elkader for over 40 years. He worked for FSA and was a member of the Clayton County Extension Council for a number of years. The couple moved off the farm into their current home in Elkader in November 2010. Keith enjoyed hunting, fishing and he was a Master Gardener – taking care of the gardens at Osborne. He was a Read Township Clerk for many years.

Survivors include his wife Linda Meyer of Elkader; son, Jeff (Sue) Meyer of St. Olaf and their family, Andy (Heidi) Meyer of Monona and Ben Meyer of West Des Moines; son, Scott (Tammy) Meyer of McGregor and their family, Michael (Jennifer) Meyer of Manchester, Ashley Meyer of McGregor, 2 great-grandchildren, Isabella and David; a brother, Gene (Cheryl) Meyer of Watseka, IL; 2 nieces, Gretchen and Cari and many friends.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Joyce Ann in infancy.
