Theodore Glawe, Sr. 1853 - 1924

Theodore Glawe - Theodore Glawe was born March the 7th, 1853 in Cuntzow, Province Pommern, Germany. He came to this country in 1872 at the age of 19 years and worked around for different farmers in Read and Farmersburg township. He was married March the 15th 1883 to Eliese Taake of Read township. They moved to a farm in Read township where they lived 9 years, when they sold their farm and bought a farm in Farmersburg township where they lived until the year 1917 when they moved to Farmersburg. But the rest was only of short duration, as the young wife of Theodore, Jr. died and they were called back to the farm again to help their son.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife and the seven children: Wilhelmina Radloff, Farmersburg twp; Emilie Wilker, Read twp; Louise Palas, Farmersburg twp; Emma Bruns, Monona; Theodore, at home; Arthur, Farmersburg tep; Arno on the home farm in Farmersburg township.

There are 18 grandchildren. He had 4 brothers and 3 sisters, 3 brothers have gone to the great beyond. His brother Henry is still living.

He leaves a large circle of friends, for the departed brother was loved and highly esteemed by all that knew him. He was kind to his family and he loved his church to which he always gave freely.

His death came suddenly on Friday, June the 6th. while out mowing his lawn he had not complained that he was ill, therefore the shock was terrible to the family.

He reached the age of 71 years and 3 months.

Funeral services were held Monday at Farmersburg and Clayton Center. Burial in the family lot at Clayton Center.
