Carl Syverson Passes Away In California
Funeral services were held at the Monona United Methodist Church in Monona, Iowa, on February 8, 1973, for Carl Syverson, with Rev. Raymond W. Pacholke officiating. Burial was in the Smithfield Cemetery near Monona.
Carl Henry Syverson, son of Carl W. and Anna (Hanson) Syverson, was born June 1, 1911, at Gilmore City, Iowa. He passed away at the Monrovia Community Hospital in Monrovia, Calif., on February 5, 1973.
He was united in marriage to Madonna Stafford on June 15, 1937, at Badger, Iowa. They spent most of their married life in the St. Olaf and Elkader area until moving to Monrovia, Calif., where they lived for last 10½ years.
There were 4 children born to this union: Betty (Curtis) Rentschler of St. Olaf; Connie (Ervin) Jones of Swisher, Iowa; Carl Syverson of Elmonte, Calif. and Donnie Carl Syverson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister and a son, Donnie Carl.
He leaves to remember him his wife, 2 daughters, one son, 5 brothers: Arnold of Marion, Iowa, Roy of Elkader, Don of Emmetsburg, Raymond of Elkader and Glen of Monrovia, Calif.; one sister, Ione (Gordon) Humbert, and 12 grandchildren.
