Mrs. Louisa Gehrlein (Joseph) Kramer died.

Mrs. Louisa Kramer died at the home of her daughter Mrs. J. C. Schmidt, Dubuque last Saturday
aged 71 years 6 months and 11 days.Deceased was born in Newport (sic), Bavaria, Germany, and came to the United States when 19
years of age locating in Louisville, Kentucky. She was united in marriage in the year 1863 to Joseph
Kramer and to them were born six children, five of whom are living, viz: Mrs. Peter Meyer, Calmar;
Joseph and J. A. of this city, Mrs. P. F. Klein, Waterloo, and Mrs. J. C. Schmidt of Dubuque her
late home.She is survived also by a sister residing in Cincinnati, Ohio, and other relatives including several
grandchildren. Her husband died in 1872, and she left a widow with six children ranging in age from
infancy to about 8 years. With untiring efforts she cared for her family and lived to enjoy their care
and companionship in the declining years of her life. She was a kind and loving mother, a true friend
and neighbor, bearing her burden of sorrow and toil cheerfully. The funeral services were held in St.
Josephs Church at this place Tuesday forenoon, Rev. Raedler of Garnavillo, officiating in the absence
of Father J. F. Reilly, after which she was laid to rest in St. Josephs Cemetery.
