Waterloo, Iowa—Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock for Mrs. Ira (Pearl) Boots, 61, who died May 23 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. The services were conducted at the Elkader Congregational Church with the Rev. George Richter, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Eastside cemetery.
Her death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage.
Mrs. Boots was born, Pearl Irene Essick, on October 22, 1898. She was a daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Joseph Essick.On October 8, 1923, she was united in marriage to Ira Jay Boots at Lorenz, Iowa. She had been
educated in the Lorenz public school and was a member of the Christian Church of that community.
The couple had made their home in Waterloo since 1943.Surviving, besides her husband, are four sisters, Mrs. Robert Barnes and Mrs. John Ceirick, both of
Royal Oak, Mich., Mrs. Edna Bohm of Fort Dodge, Mrs. Lola Davis of Alameda, Calif., and one
brother, Frank Essick of Marshall, N. C.Those from out of town who attended the funeral included Mrs. Robert Barnes, Mrs. Josephine
Ceirick and Mary Ann Miller of Royal Oak, Mich., and Mrs. Edna Bohm and Miss Nola Brooks of
Fort Dodge.Paul bearers were Jerry Moyna, John Moyna, Ray Boots, Clarence Boots, Milford Koehn and
David Hoover.
