Des Moines, Iowa—Services of Samuel J. Boots, 56, who died of a heat attack Sunday at Lee
Hotel, 624 Grand Ave., will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the White-Baumgardner-Mack East Grand
Funeral Home. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery.

Born in Elkader, he had lived in Des Moines 30 years. A WW I veteran, he was a fireman for the
Great Western Railroad.

Surviving are his mother, Mrs. August A. Boots of Elkader, four sisters, Mrs. Arthur Kramer, Mrs.
David E. Hoover, and Mrs. Jens B. Jensen, all of Elkader, and Mrs. George A. Edwards of Rock
Island, Ill., and three brothers, Ira J. of Waterloo, Clarence F. of Dubuque, and Raymond C. of Elkader.
