Alva Robert Jones, the eldest son of Jefferson and Emma Jones, was born in Wagner township, August 24, 1887, and died in Wagner township, January 11, 1919. He was married December 18, 1907, to Miss Jessie Moon, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Will Moon, and to this union four children were born, Arno Alva, aged 10 years; Harris Herald, who preceded his father to the great beyond; Clifford Clarence, aged 7; and Viola Flossie, aged 5. Soon after his marriage he, with his wife, moved on a farm near Gunder, living there three years, and then they moved near Postville, living there four years, and two years ago he bought and moved on the farm where he died. He leaves to mourn his death his wife and four children, his father and mother, two sisters and one brother, besides a large number of relatives and friends. He was loved by all who knew him and was a very good neighbor. Rev. F. P. Walter of Monona officiated at the funeral.
