Donald Emil Sonstegaard

Services for Donald Emil Sonstegaard, 32, of Luana, were held at Marion Lutheran Church on Saturday, October 18 with the Rev. Robert Henrikson, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Sonstegaard passed away Wednesday, October 15 at the Postville hospital of injuries received in a car accident. He had been hospitalized a week.

A son of Mrs. Selma Sonstegaard, he was born at Monona on March 1, 1937. In 1955 he graduated from Luana High School. Since graduation he had worked in the Luana area as a farm laborer and at the Luana dry milk plant. He served in the U.S. armed forces and was a member of the Iowa National Guard. He was a member of the Lutheran Church. He is survived by his mother. His father passed away in 1945.

Relatives from a distance attending the funeral included: Mr. and Mrs. Louis Marti and Theoline Nelson, Osage; Mrs. Weston Martin, Calmar; Mr. and Mrs. Harris Wilson and Mrs. Anna Wilson, Wabasha, Minnesota; Mrs. Don Hockinson and Mrs. James Daniels, Oelwein; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Christianson and family, Cedar Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Waalk and Mickie, Strawberry Point; Mrs. Ralph Conrad and Charlotte of Illinois.
