The body of Clifton West, 38, farmer living near Elkader, was found on the Milwaukee tracks just east of Postville Sunday noon by two men who were returning from a hunting trip. West had been struck by a westbound train and suffered a fractured skull besides severance of both legs below the knees. One leg was found about a half mile east of where his body was discovered.

A coroner's jury at Postville Monday returned a verdict of "accidental death."

The funeral of Mr. West was held at the Highland Lutheran church on Wednesday afternoon with Rev. E.E. Ramsey of Clermont officiating.
