Barbara A. Fisher died at her home in Blooming Prairie, Minn., Friday evening an illness of four [years?] with paralysis. She was born in Switzerland in 1850, and came to Wisconsin at the age of five years with her parents. She was married to Adam Fisher, July 7, 1867, in Grant City, Wis. The family resided in Clayton City for five years. In 1872 they moved to a farm southeast of Postville, Iowa. In 1892 they moved to Minnesota on a farm six miles from Blooming Prairie. In 1908 they came to Austin and resided there until the death of her husband in 1906. In the spring of the following year she moved back to Blooming Prairie with her daughter Anna and son Eli who lived with her until the time of her death.
She was the mother of nine children, two of which died in infancy. She leaves to mourn seven children--Henry G., of Lyle, Minn; Mrs. F. C. Eberling, of Postville, Iowa; Emma, Samuel and Mrs. James Lade, of Austin, and Anna and Eli, of Blooming Prairie. She also leaves fifteen grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers Mrs. Elizabeth Wintzel, of New Mexico; Mrs. Jacob Young, Jacob and George Arett, of Austin.
The funeral was held from the Lutheran church at Austin P. M. at 2:30 o’clock, Interment in Oakwood cemetery.
Mrs. Fisher was a good Christian woman and good mother. She was always willing to help the sick. She had a giving disposition and was kind hearted toward all she knew. Her name was honored and she was trusted by all she knew. She was a hard working woman and always trusted in the Lord. She leaves a host of friends to mourn her death.
We have lost our darling mother, she has bid us all adieu; she has gone to live in heaven, and her form is lost to view. Oh, that dear one, how we loved her! But an angel came down for her and removed her from our flock. The vacant place, the empty chair, we see them day by day. And oh, it fills our hearts with care since our loved one went away.
