Ten Killed In Weekend Crashes, Toll Includes Four Victims In East Iowa.

Clayton Co. Victims:

John Welsh, 22, of Colesburg and Nancy Simon, 17, of Guttenberg were killed Sunday when a car driven by Welsh ran off a highway 52 curve four miles south of Guttenberg and struck a tree.

Services for Miss Simon, a senior student at Guttenberg high school, are set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic church, Guttenberg. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Monday at Tuecke-Allenstein funeral home.

Funeral services are being held Wednesday morning at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Guttenberg for Nancy Simon, who died Saturday, Nov. 4, 1972 at the age 17 in an auto accident.

Fr. Albert Manternach is conducting the services. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery at Guttenberg. Scripture wake service was held Tuesday evening at Tuecke-Allenstein Funeral Chapel in Guttenberg.

Nancy Jean Simon was born September 18, 1955 in Dubuque, a daughter of Michael W. and Lorraine Theisen Simon.

She was a senior student at Guttenberg Community High School.

Surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael W. Simon of Guttenberg; her maternal grandfather, Joe Theisen of Bernard; her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Beatrice Simon, Farley; and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Lowell (Judy) Ellingson, Manhattan, Kan.; Mrs. Joe (Sharon) Walters, New Vienna; Mrs. Mike (Carol) Geokan, Logan, Utah; Michael J. Simon, U.S. Navy; Mrs. Forrest (Marion) Finnegan, Guttenberg; and Patricia, Linda, Joan, Patrick, Gerald, Sue, Dennis, Colleen and Danny, all of Guttenberg.
