Mary Knoebel Enders was born in Baden, Germany, Dec. 12, 1849 and came to McGregor with
her parents when a young girl. She was married and reared her children to manhood and
womanhood always respected and held in the highest regard for her uprightness of character and neighborly acts.She left here twelve years ago to make her home with her son and daughter in Milwaukee, and her
death occurred there March 3, 1925.She is survived by her sons August and Mike, and daughter Mrs. Sauncy Mershon, and by her
brothers Ed of McGregor, Otto of Milwaukee, and sisters Mrs. Regina Kaiser of Wattsboro Va.,
Mrs. John Schott of Los Angeles Ca., Mrs. Sauncy Friebel of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.The remains were brought here and the funeral held Thursday morning, March 5 at St. Mary’s
Catholic church. Rev. Father Horsfield officiating. Those present from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. Paul Friebel of Cedar Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Enders and son Ralph. Mrs. Sauncy Merschon and sons Adrian and Fredrick and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Moore all of Milwaukee.-source: North Iowa Times March 12, 1925 page 4
