Services Wednesday For Korean Casualty.
ELKADER (Special)- Interment services for Pvt. Frederick D. Wilson, a member of the 27th Infantry Regiment, will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Witt funeral chapel in Elkader on Wednesday, July 30, and at 2:00 p.m. at the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church in Elkader with the Rev. John H. Zerhusen, pastor of the Zion Lutheran church at Clayton Center officiating. Burial will be made in the East Side cemetery. Military services will be in charge of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
The remains will arrive in Elkader today escorted by Corporal Robert E. Lunneborg.
Pvt. Wilson entered the Army in August of 1951 and was sent overseas in February, 1952. He was killed in action in Korea, May 20, 1952. He was a cook in the army.
He was born at Des Moines on January 27, 1931, and was 21 years of age at the time of his death. He was raised at Clermont and came to Elkader about ten years ago with his parents. He graduated from the Elkader high school in 1950.
He is survived by his widow, the former Carla Kramer of Elkader, whom he married in September, 1951; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Wilson; a brother Harvey and two sisters, Wanda and Judy, all of Elkader.
