Mrs. Frederick Alitz
The funeral services of Mrs. Frederick Alitz, nee Kelpine, were held at the Congregational Church,
Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Revs. Seifert and Baxter officiating. Mrs. Alitz was born in Germany
Jan. 4, 1834, and died at the home of William Alitz, near Mason City, where she had gone on a visit,Oct. 19, 1902. Age 68 years, 9 months, 15 days. She was married to Frederick Alitz in 1864 and with her husband came to American in 1868 and settled in Clayton Center. Mr. Alitz lived only a few months after arriving at Clayton Center, leaving the widow with 5 children, one son and four daughters. Fred Alitz, of Elkader, Mrs. Minnie Grannis, S. D., Mrs. Bertha Hulbert, Mrs. Sam Boots, Mrs. Ora Leonard, Elkader.
