Postville Review, Wed., 26 May 1875. From the Elkader Journal.

DIED- At the residence of Henry Williamson, his son, in Boardman township, Friday, May 14th, 1875, John Williamson, aged 78 years.

Mr. Williamson was born in county Antrem, Ireland, Feb. 20th, 1797, and came to the United States when about 21 years old. He came to Clayton county in September, 1875, and settled on the farm near town where he has resided since. For many years he was assessor of the town, and was universally held in high regard as a citizen. At the time of his death he was senior Mason of this county. He was buried with Masonic honors on Sunday the 16th inst., amid a very large concourse of people of the county. P. C. Young, W.M. of Elkader Lodge No. 72, officiating. At the church an able and impressive funeral service was preached by Rev. W. J. Hicks.--Elkader Journal.
