Barnes, H. Florence 1871 - 1887

Postville Review, Sat., 3 Sept. 1887.

DIED- At Monona, Aug. 24th, after a long though not painful indisposition, H. Florence Barnes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Barnes, aged 16 years, two months and twenty-four days.

Florence was the oldest child of our friends, Mr. and Mrs. Barnes, and the sorrow they feel is deep and poignant. We know just how to sympathize with them, for our first born, too, was taken just on the threshold of manhood. Time cannot fully heal such wounds, but when we remember that it is only a question of a little time with all of us we become reconciled. Let us do what we have to do with our might, and do it well, "for the night cometh wherein no man can work".
