Funeral services for Gladine Nottnagel were held Monday, January 24, 1983 at 1:00 p.m. at the Schutte Funeral Home in Postville. The Reverend Matthew Bersagel officiated. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery at McGregor, Iowa.

Gladine Thelma Nottnagel, daughter of Daniel Webster and Eva (Danks) Mays, was born March 18, 1909 in Auburn Township, Fayette County, near West Union, Iowa. She passed away January 21, 1983 at Palmer Memorial Hospital, West Union, at the age of 73 years and 10 months.

She was baptized into the Lutheran faith. She attended school at Brainard, Iowa. On August 28, 1924 she was married to Fritz Nottnagel. To this union five children were born. They farmed near McGregor until 1963 when her husband passed away.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Phyllis, in infancy, and a grandson.

Surviving are three sons, Donald of Paden, OK, Raymond of Galt, CA, and Frederick of St. Olaf, IA, two daughters, Mrs. Hubert (Darlene) Cummings of Clermont and Mrs. Dale (Ruth) Pettit of Charles City, IA, a brother, Raymond Mays of West Union; twenty grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
