Harry Bacon
Harry Arthur Bacon, son of Frank and Dora (Baughman) Bacon, was born Aug. 27, 1899, on a farm in Franklin Township, Allamakee County, Iowa. He passed away at the Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien on Nov. 24, 1973 at the age of 74 years, 2 months, and 28 days.
Harry attended the Hickory Creek rural school in Allamakee County. He lived on the farm in Allamakee County until he moved to Monona in 1944. He worked for the town of Monona, in several capacities, for a number of years and was a member of the Monona United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Claude and Ralph, and one niece, Helen Sargent.
Left to remember him are one sister, Mrs. Ed (Genevieve) Lybbert of Cresco, one brother, Lloyd of Monona, 6 nieces and 10 nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorial services were held for Harry Bacon at the Monona United Methodist Church on Tues., Nov. 27, 1973 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Raymond W. Pacholke, officiating. Pallbearers were Henry Hemesath, Ben Frese, Gerald Klotzbach, Earl Allert, George Keehner and Carlton Schlitter.
Honorary pallbearers were Page Dull, Clarence Boots, Marlyn Henderson, Kermit Klinge, Harold Rose, Harold T. Orr, George Balekos, Sr., Gilbert Rose, Thomas Grady and Ernest H. Stafford.
Interment was in the Monona City Cemetery.
