LONG TIME MINE WORKER DIES IN DUBUQUEVictor Fisher of Clayton died Sat., June 10, 1978 at Finley Hospital in Dubuque after a brief illness. He had worked at the Clayton Silica Mine for over 25 years.
Funeral services were held Tues., June 13, 1978 at 11 a.m. in Evangelical Lutheran Church of Peace in Clayton. Rev. Mark Olson officiated. Burial was in the Clayton Cemetery.
Eastern Star and Masonic Services were held at the Tuecke Funeral Home in Garnavillo on Monday evening.
Pallbearers were William Allyn, Jim Jacobs, Donald Groth, and Cornelius Tuecke.
Victor Fisher, son of Henry J. Fisher and Clara McNeil, was born July 25, 1902 at Lake Zurich, Ill. He attained the age of 75 years.
He was married July 23, 1925 to Naomi Henrichs at Plainfield, Iowa.
Surviving Mr. Fisher are his wife, two daughters - Mrs. Richard (Betty) VanArsdale of Waterloo; Mrs. Arnold (Donna) Schultz of Clayton; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; three sisters - Louise Fisher and Mrs. Clara Folsom, both of Salina, Okla., and Mrs. Clyde (Dorothy) Liesman of Bastrop, Texas; four brothers - Henry of Anza, Calif., Raymond of Salina, Okla., Donald of Janesville, Ia. and Robert of DeWitt, Ia.
