OBITUARY OF JUSTIN BEATTY
Justin H. Beatty, 66, of Fargo, North Dakota, died last week Monday, March 13, following a heart attack while at work.Born at Elkport, Iowa on September 8, 1877, he was the son of James and Louise Beatty. His childhood and youth were spent on the Beatty farm between here and Elkport. His interests turned from farming to railroading when he reached manhood and he was division storekeeper for the Great Western Railroad at Melrose, Minn. and Grand Forks before becoming a sub-clerk on the Grand Forks to Knox, North Dakota line. In 1918 he went to Fargo from Grand Forks and was retired from the railroad in 1939 after 33 years of service.
He married Blanche Fishel in Minneapolis in 1900. He was a 33rd degree Mason and a member of El Zagal Temple.
Surviving are his widow, their three daughters, Mrs. R. O. Gregerson, Mrs. J. A. Munro of Fargo, and Mrs. W. S. Remund of Minneapolis; one son, Corp. James W. Beatty of Felton, Minn., at present at Camp Fannin, Texas; his mother, Mrs. Louise Beatty and the following brothers and sisters: James T. in California, Earl A. Beatty of Edgewood, Ransom J. of Maywood, Ill., Mrs. Gertrude Appleton of Edgewood, and Mrs. Katherine Wessel of Pittsburgh, Pa., There also nine grandchildren.
Funeral and burial services were at Fargo. the sympathy of this community is with the sorrowing mother, brothers and sisters, as well as with the members of Mr. Beatty's immediate family.
