HELEN D. HUNT
Former Cresco Lady Dies In California.
Word was received Friday of the passing Wednesday night of October 3, 1928, of Mrs. Helen Everingham at the home of her daughter Mrs. Edith McCook, Long Beach, California. The body accompanied by Mrs. McCook arrived in Cresco Tuesday night and was taken to the home of Philip A. Kratz.
The funeral service will be held this PM at the Baptist church conducted by Rev. C. S. Carroll and burial will be in New Oregon cemetery.
A sketch of Mrs. Everinghams's life will be published in next weeks Times.
Besides Mrs. McCook the relatives from a distance attending are deceased's daughter Mrs. Emma Walter and son Burton and wife of Anoka, Minnesota and a cousin Mrs. U. J. Arnold of Saude.

HELEN D. EVERINGHAMOldest child of Warren and Mary A. Hunt.
When a child she, with her parents, moved to Wagner, Clayton County, Iowa and it was there she received her early education. Later she attended a private boarding school for girls at Janesville, Wisconsin where she prepared for the teaching profession which she followed for some years.
In 1863 the family moved to New Oregon, Howard County, Iowa where her father engaged in the merchantile business with M. M. Moon.
On January 1, 1873 she became the wife of Barsnette D. Everingham and mothered his five children by a former marriage. She also became the mother of seven children, of whom with the former five mourn the loss of a devoted and self sacrificing mother's love and care.
