Mrs. Burlingame Funeral Rites Held

Funeral services for Mrs. A. M. Burlingame, 68, of Froelich were held Saturday morning, Oct. 2, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic church in Monona with Father William J. Menster officiating.

Burial was in St. Patrick's Church cemetery.

Mrs. Burlingame died at the McGregor Community hospital, Wednesday evening, Sept. 29, after a lingering illness.

She was born in Allamakee county, Sept. 10, 1897, the daughter of Charles and Minnie (Kiester) Fett.

She was married June 27, 1916, at St. Patrick's Catholic church in Monona to Alonzo Burlingame of Froelich. All her married life she and her husband were operators of Burlingame's General store in Froelich.

Mrs. Burlingame was appointed postmaster there in 1934, a position she held until her retirement in 1963.

Preceding her in death were an infant son and daughter, 2 sisters: Mrs. Michael (Elizabeth) Bindig and Mrs. Frank (Elsie) Marron; and 4 brothers: Ernest, Charles, Oscar and William.

Survivors include her husband of Froelich; one daughter, Mrs. George (Irene) Pederson of Marquette; 4 sisters, Mrs. Orlando (Elda) Marting of Monona, Mrs. Walter (Lorena) Pettit of Prairie du Chien, Wis.; and Miss Lydia Fett and Mrs. Marie Davis of McGregor; one brother, Leslie of Froelich; four grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Emmett Trappe, Albert Bludau, Dale Ashline, Roy Eiffert, Arthur Harnack, and Arthur Seeland.
