Rites Held For Former Resident

Mrs. Amanda (Garms) Biel, the daughter of Henry and Wilamina Garms, was born in Clayton county, Iowa on September 9, 1884. On November 2, 1884 she was baptized and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

At the age of 5, she moved to Postville with her parents where she graduated from high school. In 1908 she was united in marriage to Louis Biel of Granger, Minnesota. Three sons were born to this union.

Early Palm Sunday morning, April 3, she passed away. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis in 1946, and son, Royal, in 1964; she is survived by her sons, Harvey and Russell, and one stepson, Leo; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 3 brothers, Eli, Levi and Harold Garms.
