Charles Morris Love passed away Tuesday, Sept. 3, 1952, at his home in Seneca Mills following several months of illness. He was born at McGregor, Iowa, June 23, 1888, and came to Penn Yan about 20 years ago where he engaged in the fruit growing business.
In early life Mr. Love helped build roads from California to Alaska and in the winter time worked in the fur trading business. He served in the Canadian army during World War I.
Survivors include his wife, Ella Reed Love; two sons, Charles H. of Los Angeles, Calif., and Capt. Robert J. of San Bernardino, Calif., America's 11th jet pilot ace of the Korean war; one daughter, Mrs. C. Russell Carlson of Penn Yan, RD 5; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Wade Logan funeral home, 273 Lake street, Friday afternoon at 2:30. Rev. David Leach, pastor of Penn Yan Baptist church, will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday evening and on Thursday.
