A Good Man Called By Death.
On Monday evening, April 10, 1922, at 11:40 o'clock at his home in this city occurred the death of John F. Tuecke, after a few weeks illness and at the age of 70 yrs, 8 months, and 24 days, the cause of his death being a stroke of paralysis.
Deceased was born at Ceres, Clayton County, Iowa , on July 16, 1851, where he lived for a number of years.
On February 8, 1875, he was married at Guttenburg, Iowa, to Miss Wilhelmine Nuehring.
For thirty three years he was successfully engaged in farming in Clayton township, seven years ago coming ot Guttenburg with his family to reside, where he spent the remainder of his life.
Mr. Tuecke was a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church in this city, and was a true christian man and worthy citizen in every respect, and was held in high regard by all in the community. He was a kind and true husband, father, brother and friend, his greatest pleasure in life at all times being to do kind acts for his family and friends.
All was done for him that could be done to save his life, but all failed when the Angel of Death called him to the Great Beyond.
His death is deeply mourned by three sons, William, Otto, and John Tuecke, of Clayton township; five daughters, Mrs. Louise Mahowald, Mrs. Anna Esslinger, and Mrs. Eda Schroeder of Clayton township, Mrs Christine Drumb, of McGregor, and Miss Irene Tuecke, of Guttenberg; a number of grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Katherine Aulwes, of Jefferson township, and Mrs. John Schroeder, of Monona, and many other relatives and friends, by whom he will be sadly missed.
Funeral services will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church in this city this (Thursday) afternoon. Interment will be made in the City Cemetery. Rev. J. Janzig will conduct the funeral services.
