CARL DIETRICH IS LAID TO REST SUNDAY

Funeral services were held here on Sunday afternoon for Carl Dietrich, who died at his home here Thursday evening at the ripe old age of 82. The old gentleman had apparently been in good health up to the time of his death. Thursday evening he ate his supper as usual and retired for the night. At about 10 o'clock he passed away.

Mr. Dietrich was born in Germany on Jan. 31, 1850. On March 2, 1878 he was united in marriage with Pauline Zarbrock and in 1898 the young couple came to America to make their home. Mrs. Dietrich preceded her husband in death on March 9, 1928.

While in Germany, Mr. Dietrich was employed as a tailor, but after coming to this country he worked for a number of years in the saw mill here in Guttenberg.

He leaves to mourn his passing four children, Mrs. Walden Klemp and Mrs. Jake Noble of Guttenberg, Otto Dietrich of Garnavillo, and Carl Dietrich of Manly. There is also one step-son, Fred Zarbrock, of Manly.

Rev. G. Bunge of Garnavillo, officiated at the services held at St. John's Lutheran church here. Burial was made in the city cemetery.

Note: It doesn't state the date of death in the obituary but does reference it based on the date of the newspaper article. Date of death was January 28, 1932.
