Mrs. William Beisker, 73, a resident of Postville for the past sixteen years, passed away Tuesday afternoon at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Schroeder, with whom she had made her home for the past two years. Mrs. Beisker had been in ill health for the past year or more.
Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in St. Paul's Lutheran church with the Rev. Frederick R. Ludwig officiating. Interment will be in Postville cemetery.
As Anna Marie Daubenstein, Mrs. Beisker was born in Germany, September 3, 1870, coming to the United States when she was 20 years old. She lived at Clayton Center until she was married to Mr. Beisker on June 8, 1894. The couple lived in Clayton county for a number of years, five of which were spent on the Baily farm in Grand Meadow township. They then moved to their own farm five miles north of town where the deceased lived until coming to Postville. Mr. Beisker passed away Mar. 14, 1922.
Eight children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Beisker, all of whom survive. They are, Mrs. George (Anna) Henry of McGregor; Mrs. Emma Livingood, Postville; George Beisker, Waukon; Mrs. Cecil (Amanda) Livingood, Castalia; William Beisker on the old home farm; Mrs. Jessie Fitzpatrick, Mrs. Leonard (Zelma) Kirkestue and Mrs. Gilbert (Audrey) Schroeder, all of Postville.
She is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
