George Haskins, 72, former resident of Strawberry Point, passed away at Lamont Sunday, August 20th. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Lamont and burial was in the Strawberry Point cemetery Wednesday.

Mr. Haskins, son of Asa and Susan Haskins, was born in Strawberry Point. He was united in marriage to Lelia Pelley in 1900 and with the exception of three years in Howard county. Mr. Haskins has spent his lifetime in Strawberry Point and Lamont.

Surviving besides his widow are: one daughter, Mrs. A.C. Cowles of Lamont; and one sister, Mrs. Ada Franklin of Rock Island, Ilinois.
