Margaret Drummond was born June 23, 1852, near Monona, Clayton County, Iowa. Early in life she moved to McGregor, Iowa with her parents. At this place she was married to Edwin R. Prindle, Dec. 31, 1870. One son, Chas. Winfred, came to gladden their home on Dec. 16, 1874.
In her married life she has made her home at the following places: Elroy, Ill.; Waterloo, Iowa; Superior, Neb.; Dubuque, Stanley and Hazleton since 1894. Here she passed to her reward Sunday, Feb. 6, about 6 p.m. aged 63 years 7 months and 14 days. She leaves to mourn their loss her husband, son, step mother and two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Anderson and Mrs. Elizabeth Kiefer of Hazelton, one brother, David Drummond, of LaCrose, Wis., and a half-sister, Mrs. Florence Nelson, of Dubuque. Another sister, Mrs. Lillie Latham, departed this life May 2, 1912.
The deceased has suffered much but was so patient that few knew of her failing health. For this reason the community was so much shocked to learn of her death last Sabbath evening.
She and her husband united with the Hazleton Methodist Episcopal church April 4, 1909 by letter from the Baptist church. Mrs. Prindle has always been active in public affairs, being at the time of her departure, a member of the O.E.S., Rebekkah, Ladies Aid Society of the Methodist church, and W.R.C. She was treasurer of the latter society since its organization nearly fifteen years ago. All who knew her were good friends. Many good things will be said of her by them, but we beg leave to mention this one. The home which she and her husband have maintained has always been open to those in need of their sympathy and hospitality shared it with them.
The funeral services were held from the Hazleton Methodist church on Wednesday, Feb. 9 at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. F.A. Smith assisted by Rev. Horace Foote. Interment in the Hazleton cemetery.
