Strawberry Point, Jan 20 - A sad accident happened Thursday whereby Mr. H.O. Farrington, one of the first settlers in this part of the state lost his life. About thirty-five years ago he planted a tree near the corner of his house, which had grown meantime to considerable size. While he and his son were engaged in cutting it down it fell in such a way as to cause a large limb to his Mr. Farrington on the head causing his death in a few hours.~Elkader Argus, January 24, 1894

H.H. Farrington [sic], living near Rankin's corners, Lodomillo twp., met with a sad accident last week Tuesday. His son was cutting down a tree in the yard, and when it started to fall, Mr. Farrington stepped behind another tree. As the tree fell it broke a large limb of the tree he was standing under, which fell and struck his skull. He died in a few hours after the accident.
