Frederick Wolf, one of Guttenberg's oldest residents, died Friday in his home, lacking exactly a month of reaching his eighty-first birthday.
Mr. Wolf died at 8:15 Friday evening. He was born in Guttenberg Feb. 21, 1857, and lived here all his life.
He was married April 6, 1882, to Miss Hannah Thedens in Bagley. To them were born six children, two of whom died before him; a son Emil, who died in Muscatine in March of last year, and a daughter, Mrs. Lillian Plagman of Garber, who passed away in November, 1936.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, George Wolf of Canton, Mo., and Clarence Wolf of St. Ansgar; two daughters, Mrs. Carrie Beckler of Guttenberg and Mrs. Edna Siesow of Milwaukee; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Hausler of Bagley and Mrs. Pauline Martin of Anaconda, Mont.; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Wolf home. Burial was in City cemetery. The Rev. M.J. Harder, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran church in Garnavillo officiated.
