West Union - Final rites were held this morning in First Methodist church for Joseph G. White, 72, who died at his farm home near Elgin Monday. Rev. Paul Potter officiated, and burial was in Bethel cemetery, near Osterdock.
The son of Sylvanus and Lucy Palmer White, Joseph Garfield White was born Jan. 23, 1881, in Clayton county, near Osterdock.
Nov. 25, 1904, he married Anna Belle Tinkey, and they spent all their life in farming. They had five children, harold White, Chicago; Burton White, Albuquerque, N.M.; Mrs. Dale (Carmen) Missildine, Des Moines; Mrs. Evan (Loretta) Burke, Sumner and Maxine at home.
Also surviving besides his widow and children are six grandchildren, one great grandchild; four brothers and six sisters.
