McGREGOR YOUTH KILLED IN CRASH

New Albin, Ia. -- Larry D. Welch, 18, of rural McGregor was killed at 10:10 p.m. Wednesday in a one-car accident five miles west of here on the Iowa River Blacktop Road.

Allamakee county sheriff's authorities said Welch apparently lost control of the car, which rolled over several times into a ditch. His body was thrown 100 feet from the car. Welch was alone in the car at the time.

Welch, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Welch of McGregor, was driving from New Albin to the Glen Beardmore farm, where he worked, the sheriff said.

The body was taken to the Schultz Brothers Funeral Home in Monona.
