Edna Smith Laid To Rest
Memorial services were held at the Schutte Funeral Home in Postville, Iowa, on April 22, 1974, for Edna Ames Smith, daughter of Frank and Alna Wilcox Ames who passed away at the Guttenberg Hospital Saturday, April 20, 1974, at the age of 93 years, 8 months and 25 days.
Rev. Raymond Pacholke officiated. Music was provided by Mrs. David Schutte, organist. Pallbearers were Robert Collins, Louis Wagner, Carl Voelz, Floyd Luce, Marvin Miller and Edward Bernhardt. Interment was in the Hardin Cemetery.
Edna Ames Smith was born on June 25, 1880, at Marble Rock, Iowa.
She had been a school teacher for many years in Allamakee and Clayton Counties. In 1920 she was united in marriage to Merton Smith at Charles City. She resided most of her life at Hardin and she was an active member of the Luana Methodist Church for many years. She also taught in the Sunday School. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She leaves to remember her nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
