Mrs. Schrader Last Rites Held

Funeral services for Mrs. Henry (Lena) Schrader, 93, were held Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 16, at 1:30 o'clock at St. John Lutheran Church in Luana, with Rev. Luther Meyer officiating.

The body lay in state from 12:30 until the time of the services. Burial was in St. John Lutheran cemetery at Luana.

Mrs. Schrader died Sunday morning, Feb. 14, at 4 o'clock at her home in Luana. She had been in ill health for the last six months.

She was born the daughter of Carl and Dorothea, nee Neverman, Miller, Sept. 12, 1871, in Monona township. She was baptized by Pastor F. W. Seifert at Clayton Center, March 31, 1872, and was confirmed by Pastor F. Zimmerman in St. Paul Lutheran Church at Monona, March 29, 1885, as a member of the first class to be confirmed in that church. She received her education in the county school in Monona township and was a long-time member of St. John Lutheran church at Luana.

She was married to Henry Schrader at her home Feb. 4, 1896, with Pastor J. Appel officiating. The couple lived for two years on a farm in Wagner township and then purchased the present Mrs. Eldo Schrader farm south of Luana. They lived there for 33 years until they retired and moved to Luana in 1930.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, one son, Eldo, one sister, and two brothers.

She is survived by one son, Elmer, of Monona; five grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Eldo (Fredena) Schrader of Monona; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Robert Miller of Cedar Rapids.

Pallbearers were: Fred Schrader, Ed Doerring, Rudolph Garms, Alvin Johanningmeier, Alvin Schierholz, and Emil Neverman.
