ELDO KURDELMEIER
Funeral services were held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Saturday, March 11 at 11:00 a.m. for Eldo Kurdelmeier, who died March 9, 1978. He was a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in Postville. The Rev. Norris Swenson officiated.
Born December 3, 1891 on a farm near Monona, Iowa, he was the son of Louis J. and Alvina Wendt Kurdelmeier. He was baptized April 24, 1892 by Pastor F. W. Seifert at Clayton Center, Iowa and confirmed by Pastor Otto Wappler April 8, 1906 at Monona. He was received as a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville in 1945 where he remained a member.
December 9, 1914, he was united in marriage to Lana Strien of Farmersburg.
Eldo farmed in the Farmersburg, Monona, Luana and Postville vicinities and later worked as a carpenter, building a number of houses and farm buildings in Postville and the Northeast Iowa area.
He was preceded in death by his wife July 12, 1962.
Survivors include his son Lyle of Oelwein; three brothers, Louis and Roy, Harmony, Minnesota and Alvin of Cresco and one sister, Mrs. Florence Matt also of Cresco.
Interment was at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Monona.
