Funeral services for Clarence E. Knapp, 85, were held Thursday September 5 at 2:00 p.m. at the Larson and Son Funeral Home. The Rev Jerry Wolcott of Maquoketa First United Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa.Mr. Knapp died Monday, September 2 in Jackson county Public Hospital.
Mr. Knapp was born March 6, 1883 at Pleasant Ridge, Iowa, the son of George and Rebbeca Jane (Mudge) Knapp. He married Lillian Timerman Apil 30, 1907, in McGregor, Iowa.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian; two sons, Fred Knapp of Waterloo, Iowa, and Vernon Knapp of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Thiers, Kansas City, Missouri; Mrs. Ruth Paulson of Maquoketa, Iowa; and Mrs. Norma Thiers of Madison, Wis.; one brother, Arthur Knapp of Marquette, Iowa; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, four brothers and three sisters.
