I am not related and have no further information, just sharing articles found in an old scrapbook that belonged to Mrs. Clara (Jones) McCartney.

Funeral Services Held for G. W. Shaw
George Washington Shaw, born July 19, 1845 at Galena, Ill., passed away at St. Olaf, April 4, 1937, age 91 years, eight months and 15 days. At the age of five years he came to Iowa with his parents, James and Sarah Shaw, and settled on a farm in Clayton county, which has since been his home.He was married four times and was the father of 11 children, four of whom preceded him in death, namely, Charles, George, Ellen and Bertha. Surviving are Mrs. Charles Phelps, Mrs. Walter Shaw and Mrs. Mary Hunt of Colesburg, Will Shaw of Edgewood, Mrs. Maggie Noggle of Garber, Mrs. Boyce Hansel of Volga City, and James Shaw of Osterdock. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. G. G. Harris of Minneapolis, Minn., 60 grandchildren, 78 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Paul Schrunk at Colesburg on Monday afternoon, April 8 with Rev. Meyer officiating. Burial was made in the Brown cemetery. Pall bearers were six grandsons, Ben and Jake Noggle, Donald Hansel, Oda Phelps, Ray Harris and Loren Herman. Music was furnished by Don and June Evelyn Rhines of Edgewood.
Mr. Shaw was the grandfather of Ben Noggle and the great grandfather of Mrs. Leroy Menge, both of this place.

Colesburg, Ia., - Special: Funeral for George Washington “Jack” Shaw, 91, where held here Monday afternoon. Burial was in the Brown Cemetery.
Mr. Shaw died Sunday in Elkader.
A son of Mr. and Mrs. James Shaw, he was born July 19, 1845, at Galena, Ill. He came to this vicinity with his parents when he was five years old and most of his life has been spent here. He was married four times and was the father of 11 children, four of whom preceded him in death. The seven who survive are; Mrs. Charles Phelps, Mrs. Mary Hunt, and Mrs. Walter Shaw, all of Colesburg; Mrs. Maggie Noggle, of Garber, Mrs. Boyce Hansel of Volga City, William of Edgewood, and James of Osterdock. He is also survived by 60 grandchildren, 78 great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren, and one sister, and one sister, Mrs. G. G. Harris of Minneapolis.
