John P. O'Brien, 68, died at his home, 312 Hubbard avenue, Monday morning after a lingering illness. Mr. O'Brien was born in McGregor, Iowa, a son of Patrick and Katherine Hunt O'Brien. He had lived in Salt Lake City for the last 25 years.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. John P. O'Brien, and a daughter, Miss Gladys M. O'Brien; two sisters, Mrs. R.J. Kinsclla, Los Angeles, and Miss Irene O'Brien, Chicago, Ill., and a brother, James O'Brien, Tacoma, Wash.
