Eva B. Fay, 93, Interred Monday
Funeral services were held Monday, March 12, at 1:30 p.m., at Schutte's Funeral Home, Postville, for Mrs. George W. (Eva B.) Fay, 93, Postville. Rev. Dick Harberts officiated, with burial in Postville Cemetery. She died Friday evening, March 9, at the Good Samaritan Center.
Eva Blanche Webb was born April 24, 1879, youngest daughter of Henry and Rozella Dresser Webb, at the farm home about five miles east of Postville. She received her education in the South Grove School about a mile from her home.
She was united in marriage to George W. Fay, December 11, 1901 at the family home. They started farming on the Fay farm south of Postville [Grand Meadow township]. In December, 1905, they moved to Postville where Mr. Fay became an employee of the Citizens State Bank.
She became active in the Postville Rebekah Lodge and the Community Presbyterian church. For the past few years she had lived in retirement homes in the area or the Community Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George in 1933, and four sisters: Mrs. C. P. (Lucy) Smith, Mrs. John F. (Ida) Staadt, Mrs. Eugene (Melissa) Owen and Mrs. Adolph (Bertha) Thias; and her brother, Herman D. Webb. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Mrs. Herman Webb, Los Angeles, and several nieces and nephews.
