Deputy Sheriff Fred Cook, of Clayton county, tells us of a sad occurrence that has happened in the family of his nephew, Geo. W. Cook, at Spracuse, Mo. During the past winter Mrs. Geo. Cook was not well and her friends were afraid her mind was affected. Early in March she disappeared and not a trace could be found of her. About four weeks after, a neighbor found some difficulty with his well and in searching for the trouble the body of the missing woman was found in the well. Deceased was about 30 years old and was born at National, Clayton county, being Carrie, the only daugher of Charles Lang.
