Carrie Ann Nelson, 78, formerly of Monona and Waukon, died Sunday, August 25, 1991, at Lutheran Hospital, La Crosse, WI.

She was born June 7, 1913, at Littleport, Iowa, to Fred and Stella Stone Kraus. She was baptized and confirmed at the Peace United Church of Christ in Elkader. She attended rural school in the Clayton County area. Carrie married Elmer Lembke February 18, 1933. He died December 31, 1966. She was married to Milton Nelson, August 8, 1970, who died April 12, 1991.

She is survived by three sons, Earl (Bonnie) Lembke, Elkader; Karl (Eloise) Lembke, Plano, TX; Leslie Lembke, Elgin, Iowa: two daughters, Judy (Don) Mahlow of State Center; Wanda (Tracey) Lam bert; Overland Park, KS; two sisters Frieda Miller of Elkader, Leona Schmidt of Prairie du Chien, WI; three brothers Harvey Kraus, Volga, Lawrence Kraus, Chicago, IL, Raymond Kraus of Elkport; 13 grandchildrem; seven great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Besides her husbands, Carrie was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters, and her parents.

Funeral services were Wednesday, August 28 at 1 p.m. at the Elgin Lutheran Church, Elgin with Rev. Harold R. McMillin Jr. officiating. Organist was Marilana Sutter. Burial was in the Illyria Cemetery, rural Elgin.

Pallbearers were Kevin Lembke, Loren Lembke, Les Amundson, Brett Lembke, Nathan Lembke, Darin Mahlow.

Funeral arrangements were made by the Muehlethaler Funeral Home, Elgin, Iowa.
