Services for Mrs. Lillian L. Bruckner Lyster, 96, of Guttenberg were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 1988, at First Congregational Church in McGregor. The Rev. Katherine L. Harding officiated.
Mrs. Lyster died Wednesday, Nov. 2, at Prairie Living Center, a Prairie du Chien, WI. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, McGregor. Pallbearers were Lance Hagen, Tom Hagen, Jeff Hagen, Tim Hagen, Jamie Hagen and Jeff Strnad. Visitation was at the Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home in Guttenberg.
Mrs. Lyster was a daughter of Albert and Johanna (Becker) Schultz and was born in McGregor June 1, 1892. She was married April 12, 1912, in McGregor to Fred Bruckner, who died March 18, 1937. On April 12, 1949, she was married in Cedar Rapids to Roy L. Lyster, who preceded her in death in 1964. Mrs. Lyster worked at the Bruckner Tavern in McGregor and Guttenberg. She later cared for the elderly and disabled in their homes.
She is survived by one son, Ervin, of Mesa, AZ; one daughter, in Mrs. Agnes Handke, of Guttenberg; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Emma Bovee of McGregor and Nettie Hill of Marquette.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Dorothy; one son, Bert; her husbands, parents, five brothers, three sisters, two half-brothers and one half-sister.
