Archie A. Knapp, 88, of rural Marquette, IA, died Friday, Jan. 8, 1988, at the Great River Care Center in McGregor.

Archie was born June 2, 1899, in rural Marquette to Milo and Mabel Knapp. He married Violet Kohl, and they farmed near Marquette.

Survivors include his wife, Violet; two daughters, Mrs. Earl (Vivian) Davies of McGregor and Mrs. Justine Sawvell of Wapello; one son, Donald of Dubuque; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one sister, Vera Knapp of McGregor.

Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 11, 1988, at the Thornburg Funeral Home, McGregor, with Rev. Wayne Wasta officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Dean Starkey, Raymond Siegele, Harvey Dickens and Frank Rodenberg. Thornburg Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements
