Roger F. Bothel of Veneta, OR died June 22, 1999 of cancer. He was 67. Bothel was born July 2, 1931, in Monona Iowa to Earl and Irene Bothel. He married Gloria Gordon in Monona on July 13, 1957. An equipment operator, Bothel worked for the Bureau of Land management. His interest included fishing, hunting, camping and bowling. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Paul Rutledge of Veneta and Bobbi Bothel of Springfield; a son Bruce of Veneta; a brother, Curt of Mount Vernon, Iowa; a sister, Dorla Drahn of Monona; and one grandchild. No services will be held. West Lawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Eugene is in charge of arrangements. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association or to Hospice of Sacred Heart.
